Info:

Get fish before you die to undernourishment.  But only the right Fish will be able to satisfy you. It's a ticking Time bomb and I hope you'll survive.

About:

This was made for my Fourth Game Jam Participation in the  Beat the Boredom Game Jam. As an Engine I used Unity. Nearly all the Pixel Art is drawn by myself with the PixilArt Website, as well as all the Animations.  The music is generated via. Ecrett Music and all other Sound Effects are made with Bfrx/Audacity. Because the theme of the Game Jam is "Outside", I created a game where you fish out of a lake to survive.

The music and atmosphere are spot on.

I couldn't complete it though, I don't know whether it was because the rod didn't go very far or just bad luck.

Also, isn't that the jojo cans and seaweed from Stardew Valley?

For the Fishing you have to wait, until you see a Exclamation Mark and hear the corresponding sound. When you then return the rod you should have a 50% chance of getting a fish. For you second Answer, yes they are and I love Stardew Valley :P

Chill music and great sprite/pixel work

Thanks a lot. :P

This game has a really good aesthetic, and the music fits quite well with the mood. Overall this game is nice, though I've encountered a bug during the tutorial:

I opened my backpack for the first time, and sold what appeared to be cans, and upon doing so I noticed the message saying "To eat fish, click on it". I didn't have anything left in my inventory, and so the message stayed 'til I figured I could still fish and died before being able to consume one.

Still, I replayed and managed to win the second time. The game is nice and relaxing.

Thanks a lot for playing I hope you liked the Game Won Screen XD. For the Tutorial, I wanted to make sure that the player knew that he could grill fish / throw it out and even sell it. This combined with my overly complicated Tutorial Manager has led to a few problems.

Still thanks for your kind feedback and I hope you had fun while playing :D

Hey, I owe you a big thanks for letting me know the file was missing from my submission. I wouldn't have known otherwise. I was allowed to resubmit.

No problem :P. I know it can be stressful sometimes to submit in time and get everything right , you're not the only one that goofed up a few times XD.

Still thanks your nice comment and I will definitely check out your game right now.

Hello, I don't know if you are still planning on updating this game, but here are a few things I noticed:

1. There seems to be a bug where you have to click very high on the screen in order to use the fishing rod properly.

2. Consuming fish does not seem to restore the proper amount of hunger, and if it does, sometimes it happens maybe 10-30 seconds after consuming.

Because of these reasons, the first two times I played I died fairly quickly due to hunger.

I think where this game really shines is in the pixel art and the music though. The pixel art is very good, and the music, though simple, fits the mood very well.

I get that this game was made under a time limit, and I can understand how hard that is. I hope you continue to update it though.

I'm already updating the game right now for more content / bug fixes.

The first bug is because I had to block Ray casts from UI. I tried to fix that with better placement of the Tutorial Text.

For the second Bug that was mainly because if you use a fish it gets grilled over the fire you could theoretically even see it, but there isn't enough of a indicator to be actually able to see it. That's also the reason why you wait before the hunger gets restored (The fish gets roasted first). I can totally understand how that led to confusion. I'll try to implement some clear smoke particles that will clearly signalise the grilling of the fish.

Thanks for you nice and helpful feedback. :D
